THE DEIGHT COMMUNITY

DEIGHT exists to create a welcoming, respectful and inclusive social community where people can meet, connect, expand their social circles and enjoy meaningful experiences together.

These Community Guidelines apply to DEIGHT Members and guests attending DEIGHT Socials, as applicable.

By becoming a DEIGHT Member, attending a DEIGHT Social or Members’ Social, or participating in a DEIGHT community space, you agree to behave in accordance with these guidelines.

OUR COMMUNITY VALUES

We encourage everyone within the DEIGHT community to:


  • Be respectful and considerate of others

  • Be welcoming and inclusive

  • Support a positive and friendly atmosphere

  • Respect personal boundaries

  • Engage honestly and authentically

  • Help create a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone

RESPECTFUL BEHAVIOUR

Everyone participating in the DEIGHT community must treat others with dignity and respect.

The following behaviours are not permitted:


  • Bullying, intimidation or harassment

  • Aggressive, threatening or abusive behaviour

  • Personal attacks or insulting comments

  • Discrimination based on age, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation or any other characteristic protected by law

  • Deliberately creating conflict or disruption within the community

  • Repeated unwanted contact after someone has asked you to stop

PERSONAL BOUNDARIES

Everyone has the right to feel safe and comfortable when participating in DEIGHT.

Members and guests must:


  • Respect personal space and boundaries

  • Accept rejection gracefully

  • Respect another person's decision not to engage further

  • Avoid persistent or unwanted communication

  • Obtain consent before sharing photographs, videos or personal information involving another person

Nobody is obligated to continue a conversation, exchange contact details, attend another event, go on a date, or pursue any friendship, relationship or other personal connection.

RELATIONSHIPS, DATING & PERSONAL CONNECTIONS

DEIGHT is a social community for singles, and we recognise that friendships, dates, romantic relationships and other personal connections may naturally develop.

We welcome genuine connections. However, everyone is expected to behave respectfully and maturely regardless of how a personal relationship or connection develops.

Members and guests must:


  • Treat former partners, dates and personal connections respectfully

  • Respect requests for space or boundaries

  • Avoid harassment or repeated unwanted contact

  • Avoid creating unnecessary conflict or disruption within the community

  • Refrain from publicly sharing another person's private relationship matters

  • Avoid attempts to isolate, exclude or influence other people against an individual

  • Behave courteously at DEIGHT events where a former partner, date or personal connection may also be present

The ending of a friendship, date, relationship or personal connection does not automatically affect another person's ability to participate in DEIGHT.

Where a personal dispute begins to negatively affect other people, an event or the wider community, DEIGHT may take appropriate action to protect the experience and wellbeing of those involved.

EVENT CONDUCT

These standards apply at both DEIGHT Socials and Members’ Socials.

When attending a DEIGHT event, attendees are expected to:


  • Treat fellow attendees, venue staff, hosts and organisers courteously

  • Follow reasonable instructions from DEIGHT hosts and venue staff

  • Follow venue rules and policies

  • Behave responsibly

  • Respect other people's personal boundaries

  • Avoid behaviour that disrupts the enjoyment of the event for others

The following may result in removal from an event:


  • Aggressive, threatening or abusive behaviour

  • Harassment

  • Serious or repeated unwanted behaviour

  • Excessive intoxication

  • Illegal activity

  • Behaviour that creates a genuine safety concern

  • Refusal to follow reasonable instructions from DEIGHT organisers or venue staff

Where appropriate, DEIGHT may also restrict an individual's attendance at future events.

SAFETY

The safety and wellbeing of people attending DEIGHT events is important to us.

Members and guests should:


  • Exercise appropriate care and judgement when meeting new people

  • Respect the boundaries and safety of others

  • Report serious concerns to the DEIGHT team promptly

  • Cooperate with reasonable safety measures introduced by DEIGHT or an event venue

Where DEIGHT reasonably believes that an individual's conduct presents a safety concern or serious risk to others, we may remove that individual from an event, restrict future attendance or suspend or terminate membership where applicable.

ONLINE COMMUNITY BEHAVIOUR

Where DEIGHT provides online groups, communities, forums, chats or other digital spaces, participants must:


  • Keep discussions respectful

  • Respect other people's privacy

  • Avoid harassment, threats or intimidation

  • Avoid spam and excessive self-promotion

  • Avoid unauthorised advertising or solicitation

  • Avoid deliberately disruptive behaviour

The following content is prohibited:


  • Hate speech

  • Threats or intimidation

  • Harassment

  • Explicit sexual content

  • Illegal content

  • Content intended to target, humiliate or intimidate another person

  • Unauthorised commercial advertising or solicitation

PRIVACY & CONFIDENTIALITY

Please respect the privacy of other people within the DEIGHT community.

Without appropriate consent, members and guests must not:


  • Share another person's private contact information

  • Publish private conversations

  • Share screenshots from private DEIGHT community spaces

  • Publish photographs or videos of another person where consent is reasonably required

  • Disclose confidential or sensitive information learned through private community participation

DEIGHT cannot control private communications or information voluntarily shared between individuals outside DEIGHT-managed spaces, so members and guests should exercise appropriate judgement when sharing personal information.

BUSINESS PROMOTION & SOLICITATION

DEIGHT exists primarily to create genuine social connections. It is not intended to operate as a platform for unsolicited sales, recruitment, prospecting or lead generation.

Without prior permission from DEIGHT, members and guests must not:


  • Promote products or services to other attendees

  • Send unsolicited sales or promotional messages

  • Use DEIGHT events primarily to generate business leads

  • Recruit attendees into businesses, schemes, programmes or commercial opportunities

  • Collect member or attendee information for marketing purposes

  • Distribute promotional material at DEIGHT events

  • Use private DEIGHT community spaces for commercial solicitation

Serious or repeated misuse of the community for unsolicited commercial activity may result in removal from community spaces, restrictions on future event attendance or termination of membership where applicable.

MEMBER FEEDBACK & COMMUNITY PROTECTION

Members and guests are encouraged to raise genuine concerns about behaviour that may affect the safety, wellbeing or reasonable enjoyment of others.

Where concerns are raised, DEIGHT may review the circumstances, seek relevant information and determine whether action is appropriate.

Member or guest feedback may form part of that review, but decisions regarding warnings, event attendance, suspensions and membership remain with DEIGHT.

Serious concerns involving safety, harassment, discrimination, threats or other significant misconduct may require immediate action.

Our aim is to protect the safety, integrity and enjoyment of the DEIGHT community while considering concerns fairly and proportionately.

REPORTING CONCERNS

If you experience or witness behaviour that you believe seriously breaches these guidelines, please contact the DEIGHT team as soon as reasonably possible.

Reports will be considered appropriately and handled with discretion where possible. However, DEIGHT cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality where information needs to be shared to investigate a concern, protect an individual or comply with legal obligations.

We encourage concerns to be raised early so that they can be considered appropriately.

MEMBERSHIP & EVENT ATTENDANCE

DEIGHT Membership is free to apply for and is subject to approval.

Submitting an application does not guarantee membership.

Approved applicants are required to complete DEIGHT's applicable identity-verification process before their membership is activated.

Membership does not guarantee admission to every event. Members choose and pay for the Members’ Socials they wish to attend, subject to the applicable event terms and booking requirements.

DEIGHT may review membership or event attendance where there are reasonable concerns regarding conduct, safety, misuse of the community or serious breaches of these guidelines.

Depending on the circumstances, action may include:


  • An informal or formal warning

  • Removal from an event

  • Temporary restrictions on event attendance

  • Suspension of membership

  • Termination of membership

  • Exclusion from future DEIGHT events or community spaces

Serious misconduct may result in immediate action without a prior warning.

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS

All DEIGHT Membership applications are personally reviewed.

Membership is by approval, and submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance.

DEIGHT may decline an application or decide not to offer membership where, acting reasonably and lawfully, we consider that doing so is appropriate for the management, safety or integrity of the community.

Applicants who are approved will be asked to complete a one-time identity-verification process before becoming an active DEIGHT Member.

There is currently no monthly DEIGHT Membership fee. Members pay only for the Members’ Socials they choose to book.

CHANGES TO THESE GUIDELINES

DEIGHT may update these Community Guidelines from time to time as the community, events and services develop.

The latest version will be made available through our website.

Material changes will apply from the date stated in the updated guidelines or otherwise as communicated by DEIGHT.
